Welcome to one of  the biggest windmills of Sweden!

På svenska

On this site you will be able to follow the work towards restoring the windmill at the crown of Endrebacke, ten minutes ride by car from Visby, the province capital city of Gotland.

The windmill was partially cut down in 1969 and its wooden part covered under sheet metal.

Since some time work is afoot to restore this landmark of Gotland.

2006 support was granted from the Swedish board of agriculture.

The goal is to revive this sleeping giant out of its slumbering existence and ones again let its wings swirl and throw its shadow over Endrebacke.

Let us hope that Endre windmill will make a part of our cultural history come alive!

Projekt Endre Kvarn,  with support from the county administration and the Guarantee Section of the European Agricultural Guidance and Guarantee Fund (EAGGF).

The windmills history  gives a brief view into its history and provides the base for its future.

In our photo archive you will find photos from yesteryears and the present.

The drawings archive, provides graphic information about its in- and exterior resources. The drawings are the work of architect Mona Kilström, and have been kindly provided by her to the project. The drawings have been made to the highest standards and precision and are an invaluable resource in communicating the windmills qualities. We are proud to have them as part of our presentation!
